Events! My Mom and I have held events to raise funds for our trek to Peru. We started by announcing to my friends and family that I was going to Machu Picchu and that I would somehow be helping kids with disabilites in countries that don't have some of the advantages that I have had. We didn't have the financial ability to do this on our own so we asked everyone if they wanted to help. Well... we had lots of help and we worked really hard to make sure everyone knew who I was and why I was asking for their support. It has been an amazing journey so far.

Events up til now...

October 6th 2010

Tomorrow we are selling our home made cinnamon buns at the Roberts Creek Hall again. We are staying a few more days in Peru and we need a little extra money to do this. We are volunteering at a wheelchair clinic and meeting many of the kids who directly benifit from EquipKIDS programs! Yay!

By the way the Terry Fox Run was fun. We walked the 10 Km in 2hours and 27 minutes!

September 18 2010

We are walking in the Terry Fox Run in Roberts Creek this sunday instead of our usual route. Everyone should come out to walk, run, ride the 3, 5 or 10 km for cancer research! 87% of all money raised goes to cancer research, and everyone's life has or will be affected by this disease so everyone should help find a cure. Besides its great exercise, fun and great karma. See you at Roberts Creek school at 9:30 for registration.

August 29, 2010

We will be walking most Sundays until October, from the Rec Centre in Gibsons to the Gumboot in Roberts Creek. You can join usfor the whole way or just part of it.  Or you can beep and wave as you drive by. We start around 9:30 am.

Donation boxes are at Benjamin's, and Gaia's all in Gibsons.  You can also donate online! Just go to the Online Donation Tab and click on our Chip In link

August 2010

Sadly the Wild Bistro is now gone. We thank Kera and Ian for all their unconditional support and their friendship and we wish them every great thing for their new life.

July 23, 2010

Another great night at The Wild Bistro, this time with Myah as the main dish. A night of music with Bonar Harris opening up the stage, Kenji singing japanese folk songs, CarnivalEra (Dispenced) left everyone smiling and applauding and then Skye Wallace and her collective, Friends With Benefits, took the stage just before the fireworks from Lower Gibsons lit up the sky. Then they played another set to send us on our way!

Thank you to everyone especially Kera and Ian who are firm supporters of so many great causes and ideas. The Wild, their place, is a wonderful mix of casual roughness and quirky charm all wrapped around mouthwatering food and creative brilliance.

Myah had two intentions in February when this started. To actually get to Machu Picchu and to help kids that are disabled know that they can't give up, no matter what and if she could help them become the potential amazing humans they are destined to be, she would.

We are going to Peru to climb Machu Picchu. We have some more money above the amount for our particapation costs to give to EquipKIDS to help with their programs. Myah has begun to understand that just being herself and showing people who she is, gives people hope. To all of you who have had a hand in that, Thank you.

June 6, 2010

Thank you to Everyone. Lets start there.

We have had a huge successful Sunday Funday Fundraiser! The goal has been reached with so much help and support it is mind boggling. Myah and I will continue to raise funds throughout the summer. As we donate more money to EquipKIDS and their programs the trek cost comes down and the difference is also donated to EquipKIDS. Changing Lives!!
